Standard Environmental Reference: http://www.dot.ca.gov/ser: This website is the Caltrans Standard Environmental Reference (SER) - an on-line resource designed to help state and local agency staff plan, prepare, submit and evaluate environmental documents for transporation projects. The site includes five Environmental Handbooks, as well as guidance, forms, templates and memos pertaining to the environmental process at Caltrans. Volume 5 of the SER is the Storm Water Quality Assessment document.

Cal/Osha Website: http://www.dir.ca.gov: This website cotains pages for all of the regulations governing occupation safety in California. Most of them are found in Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations.

General industry Safety Orders (GISO): http://www.dir.ca.go/Title8/sub7.html: This contains the Sections of the CCR that apply to industrial facilites.

Construction Safety Order (CSO): http://www.dir.ca.gov/Title8/sub4.html: This is a list fo the Sections of the CCR that apply to the construction industry.

NIOSH

NIOSH Website: http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/homepage.html: The Nation Institute for Occupation Safety and Health (NIOSH) is the federal agency responsible for conudction research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related injury and illness. NIOSH is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Department of Health and Human Services. Many of the regulations are based on the research done by NIOSH. NIOSH also is the agency that certifies respirators for use where atmospheric hazard cannot be otherwise controlled.

CASQA - The California Stormwater Quality Assocation

CASQA Website: http://www.casqa.org: This is the website of CASQA, a private organization that offers educational material and handbooks for the various NPDES Permit requirements.

CASQA Handbooks: http://www.cabmphandbooks.org: Their Construction Handbook has been adopted by some agencies as the standard for SWPPP compliance. You can download it from this site, or you can order printed copies from them. Handbooks are also available for Municpal Stormwater Permit Compliance, Industrial Permit Compliance, and New Development or Redevelopment Compliance.

CEQA

CEQA Website: http://www.ceres.ca.gov/ceqa: Californial Enviromnetal Quailty Act (CEQA). This is the law that requires an Evnironmental Impact Report for projects that are not "categorically exempt."

Center for Watershed Protection: http://www.cwp.org/other_resources.htm: The Center for Watreshed Protection is a non-profit organization that offers a wide variety of reference and educational material, as well as links to other information sites.

Stormwater Manager's Resource Center: http://www.stormwatercenter.net: The Stormwater Manager's Resource Center (SMRC) web site is made possible through a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. The SMRC web site was funded to provide Phase II communities with the tools and techniques necessary to protect their watershed and to enhance and restore their local water resources.
