Description

This four-day course is accredited by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and meets OSHA requirements for Class I & II work. The course covers many topics including safety, laws and regulations, and state-of-the-art work procedures. The participant will also be involved in a 14 hour segment of hands-on training which will include activities such as donning personal protective equipment, building a decontamination unit, glove-bagging, and proper use of common asbestos abatement equipment and tools. This course is taught by an Accredited Sub Contractor.

Certificate of Completion

A certificate documenting Asbestos Worker Initial training is awarded to each student who attends the course. Full attendance is mandatory.

Course Content

Training for Asbestos Awareness shall be consistent with Federal and State OSHA Requirements.  This course is for employees for may work around but not with Asbestos. Asbestos awareness provides answers to questions like what is asbestos, what are the hazards, should I be worried about exposure to asbestos while at work.

Note

This course meets the AHERA training requirement for Asbestos Workers. This course does NOT qualify for A/C Pipe Certification. Participants at the GENI facility are provided with a continental breakfast and lunch.
